The upperclassmen Catholic retreat RISE will take place at North Florida Christian Camp on Dec. 4-7. This will be the fourth RISE retreat that Bishop Kenny has organized and hosted for students.
From morning mass to tourney time, each day at the retreat is full of activities and opportunities to grow in faith.
For the junior class, this is the first opportunity to attend the retreat, which can leave many questions unanswered.
RISE adult leaders and student servants are available to answer questions, but here are a few answers to commonly asked questions.
Do we stay overnight?
Yes. Each student will stay overnight in a cabin at North Florida Christian Camp. The camp is located in Keystone Heights, Fla.
What is “tourney time?”
Tourney time is a specific time each day that you will compete in activities with your team. Each student is assigned a team: pink, blue, orange, or green. At the end of the retreat, the winning team is announced. The winners will not only achieve points by winning games, but also by helping out during the retreat.
Do many students attend?
Last fall, over 100 students attended, making it the largest retreat yet. The goal is to reach 150 student attendees this fall.
When do sign-ups start?
Registration is open today, October 1. Sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot.
