Carlo Acutis was canonized this past Sunday, Sept. 7, as the first millennial saint. He died at the age of 15 from acute promyelocytic leukemia in 2006.
Acutis went to adoration every day and created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles.
“His interest in using digital communication to teach others led to Acutis being popularly dubbed ‘the patron saint of the Internet,’” according to britannica.com.
Two miracles occurred under his intercession.
Pier Giorgio Frassati was canonized Sunday, Sept. 7. He died at the age of 24 from polio on July 4, 1925.
His canonization cannot be traced to a singular act, but more so the manner in which he acted in his short life. He encapsulated Christ’s teachings through his faith, prayer and lifelong pursuit of holiness.
“He was called the Man of the Beatitudes,” according to USCCB.org
He is the patron saint of World Youth Day, the lay apostolate and Italian Confraternities, according to frassatiusa.org.
