On Nov. 8, senior Sheridan Delegal was crowned Miss Senior High.

Although Delegal has represented Bishop Kenny in pageantry since March 2025, she now upholds a larger title that represents all high schools in Northeast Florida. Miss Bishop Kenny has not advanced to the position of Miss Senior High since 2022, when alum Anabel Macchi won.

How did you prepare to compete for Miss Senior High?

“After winning Miss BK, I continued to be involved in my community, and used the title to advocate for different service opportunities to get my community involved,” Delegal said.

In the school community, Delegal is involved in BK Best Buddies, which works in service to the North Florida School of Special Education.

Why did you choose Irish dance as your talent?

“I have been Irish dancing competitively for the past 10 years, and wanted to share my love of dance and my Irish heritage,” Delegal said.

She dances at Kavanah Porter Academy under the training of her teachers Cian, Faith and Scott. Travelling as far as Dublin, Ireland, as a world qualifier, Delegal has danced among the highest-ranked Irish dancers on the planet.

This past summer, she competed at the national level and finished in thirteenth place. Currently, Delegal is ranked amongst the top 1% of Irish dancers, and is preparing to compete in the Southern Region Qualifier.

What is a common misconception about being Miss Bishop Kenny or Miss Senior High?

“I think a lot of people think Miss Bishop Kenny and Miss Senior High are just titles that represent the physical beauty of the winner,” Delegal said. “But these titles are a platform that I can use to advocate for nonprofit organizations like The North Florida School of Special Education or Camp I am Special.”

How do you handle your academic schedule at the same time as pageantry?

“Time management is a big part of being able to succeed in all aspects of my life,” Delegal said.

“I keep a planner that I use to ensure all of my school work is done. I also make sure I’m using my time wisely in class and getting all my work done so I can study when I get home.”

With classes such as AP Literature and AP Biology, she takes a few of the highest level courses offered for a senior at Kenny. She is also currently taking the first dual enrollment class offered at Kenny, Freedom & Virtue/Catholic Social Teaching, through Barry University.

What would you tell the future Miss Bishop Kenny?

“Take every opportunity that you are given,” Delegal said. “At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to compete in the Miss Senior High pageant, but I’m so glad I did. I was able to earn $1500 in scholarships for college, and walk away with 19 lifelong friends and countless memories.”

The next Miss Bishop Kenny Pageant is in April 2026, and is open to all junior ladies.

Where do you see yourself in the coming years?

“I plan on majoring in chemistry, with the intention of furthering my education in orthodontics after graduation,” Delegal said.

With college applications submitted, her options are still open as to where she will be attending for her undergraduate degree.

For the remaining months of her time as Miss Bishop Kenny and Miss Senior High, Delegal hopes to spread awareness and cherish her time holding the title.
