From freshman year to senior year, Samuel Militante has had the opportunity to grow closer to God. Through altar serving and service clubs, Militante tries to show his devotion to the faith. Militante shows his commitment and obedience to God through acts of service and dedication in clubs like St. Vincent de Paul.
Militante serves as a Eucharistic Minister, as well as an altar server.
“Being present, with going to mass, it helped me,” Militante said.
In mass, Militante shows the steps one takes to prepare themselves to receive the Eucharist. Militante has the opportunity to help others prepare themselves before and during the mass.
“It’s nice to be a part of the mass, ” Militante said. “It keeps you focused, to be up with the priest and everyone.”
In a Catholic environment, Militante has been able to meet others that partake in the bond of faith, as they pursue their own faithful walk.
“I’ve met a lot of nice people doing it,” Militante said.
As Militante will graduate in 2026, he will reach the max age of altar serving, but he will continue to grow and cherish his faith.
“I will be an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion in my parish,” Militante said.
As he moves into a different setting, post high school, Militante says he will continue to spread the faith and share God’s message with others.
“I plan to take my faith seriously in college,” Militante said. “And grow closer in my relationship with God.”
