Homecoming proposals arise as fall dance approaches
Accept this Proposal

It’s that time of the year again… Homecoming is almost here.

With the dance happening soon, students are now preparing to ask their dates to go with them.

Rather than just presenting a girl with flowers and asking them the question, boys nowadays have gotten more creative with the way they ask girls to HOCO.

The most common way they ask is by making a sign, which is usually personalized to the girl and her interests. They also might include a bouquet or another small gift, like a stuffed animal or a candy bar, or even go all out with a decorated room, or a full performance.

For some boys, it can be a very nerve wracking task to ask someone to HOCO.

“I was pretty anxious and nervous before, hoping that she’d like the poster and for what she would say,” junior Miguel Aguilar said. “But when she said yes, then I felt so much relief.”

As for the girls, some have been hoping for a HOCO proposal, and think it’s the most exciting part of the dance.

“I thought that it was super sweet and thoughtful because I could tell that he put in a lot of thought and effort into the signs and gifts,” junior Angelina Allen said.

If there is someone who has been on your mind, take this article as a sign to ask them to the dance.
