Head football coach Tim Krause earned Coach of the Week from the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation.
Coach Krause led the Crusaders to victory in the week 2 Game of the Week matchup against University Christian, with a final score of 21-20, according to the Jaguars Foundation Instagram post.
Krause played high school football, and was inspired to become a coach by his high school head coach.
“He was a big part of my high school development,” Krause said. “That was something I wanted to help younger athletes with as well.”
Krause also credited his dad as his biggest inspiration for coaching.
“He coached me my whole life, through many sports,” Krause said. “I strive to be like him.”
Some of Coach Krause’s favorite moments from coaching are when graduated players come back to watch, and even help coach. He also enjoys winning big games, he says, like beating the Bolles Bulldogs in 2022.
Krause says that he and his coaching staff work hard to instill discipline and maturity in players.
“We want them to discover who they are as a person,” Krause said.
The football team hopes to win a district championship this year, according to Krause.
“We have already started preparing for [the] game against Tocoi Creek High School,” Krause said. “The boys have been working hard and we are ready for anything.”
As a result of the Coach of the Week achievement, the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation awarded Bishop Kenny Athletics with $1,500.
