Seniors at BK have a long-standing tradition of taking childish backpacks to school. The backpack focuses on their inner child before preparing for adulthood. The bags consist of everything from childhood cartoons, to Disney films and even video games.
“I love the senior backpacks, it brings back my childhood memories,” Senior Livia Silva said.
Many seniors have their favorite cartoon character on their bags. Senior K’deem Zamor has a Bowser backpack from Super Mario Bros. The bag is based on Bowser’s green spiky back shell.
Senior Armani-Dior Wynn has a bag that features both Red Fraggle and Monkey Fraggle.
“I have a Fraggle Rock backpack,” senior Wynn said. “It’s like old school Sesame Street.”
Senior Zachary Tatum has a Donkey Kong backpack that focuses on the main character from a video game series.
Senior Carter Wright has a light blue Paw Patrol bag. His bag is a Pottery Barn bag which seems to be one of the more popular options this school year.
Pottery Barn backpacks come in many colors, patterns, and styles. This gave seniors who have them the freedom to customize their bags with their own styles and designs.
Seniors Caroline Coughlin, Lindy Jakab, Sarah Cruz, Summer Swan and Ella Westwood all have Pottery Barn backpacks.
“It is a very enjoyable tradition,” senior Elian Huraira said. “It brings back many childhood memories.”
